I really dig the "live cinema" description, coincidentaly enough I just saw a <a href="http://www.petermettler.com/" rel="nofollow">Peter Mettler</a> live video mix accompanying some lovely George Crumb material being performed by the <a href="http://www.artoftimeensemble.com/" rel="nofollow">Art of Time Ensemble</a>. I was sitting with my friends critiquing the visual component of the performance afterwards and I realized that the discussion wasn't that different than dissecting a DJ set, something everybody had learned how to do quite well by the mid 90's. I'm really interested in the idea of improv-editing working in tandem with auto-abstraction. I'm definitely going to check the research out.. thanks!
